Her Last Smile
It was anticipation that brought hope, it was love’s s e n s a t i o n that helped me COPE- Her glass always half empty, mine half full, and it was her poor creation that too its toll. Seemed like yesterday was the day when all my FEARS had slipped away- But I remembered all the r e m o r s e she adored, and that silence was truly ABHORRED. Fear t r i c k l e d down her spine with dread, who knew she’d finally end up dead- Holding onto a heart too WEAK to live, with nothing else but shame left to give. I knew a life of withering roses, her standing in a million different manic poses- She knew a life of DEPRESSION and sorrow, I knew not she’d be g o n e tomorrow. When the wine bottle dripped EMPTY, is when my eyes could finally see- She had taken one last sip to r e t r e a t, guess I knew she’d never get back on her feet. When I found her body cold and blue, it was so surreal and I thought untrue- We had a CLOSED CASKET to suffice, for her l i f e l e s s body was d e c a y e d from the ice. So I didn't get to see her o n e l a s t t i m e, but instead read verses of lyrics and rhyme- Her funeral full of people who MOURNED, she used to be full of life and adorned. So, I whisper one last goodbye at her grave, holding onto the one thing I knew I could save- It was her LAST SMILE TOO MANY YEARS AGO, I still find her suicide so hard to let go. October 14, 2017
