I'Ve Needed To Know
I've needed to know for some time now- I've been gradually trying to figure out how you could leave with ease and not even try, I dreamed of forever, you dreamed of goodbye. Time can't refrain when your lost in a maze, thinking about how your touch did amaze, me running off stage, you taking a bow- I've needed to know for some time now. I've been dragging my heels to hell and back, with circles of mistrust; it's your love I lack- when the dusk turns to night I'll be seen in a crowded room with the confused, unclean. Forgiveness shan't be granted with grace, me longing for time, you craving your space. The journey you led is thrown off track-, I'm just a shell of a body; watch my skin crack. How could your love cease and I didn't know, tracing my steps, front and back to and fro- I believed your truth when it was too late, I thought an adoring future was our fate. When an hourglass drains, it fills up again, hoping you'd still call me your best friend. My passion increased, your restrain did grow, 'cuz for some time now, I've needed to know. October 8, 2017
