Shattered Delusions
Soap bubbles have been flying around me Steadily building a fortress One which held a door open One which pushed me to sit inside it And to feel so good about existing there! But the winds do get harsh from time to time My bubbled soap fortress has been getting shaky Some of the bubbles have even burst open Leaving me to cringe at the sight of the world I left! Pray, what is this meaning of life, so dark and bleak Frightened and pricked, I tried to re-assemble the fortress So that, fully comforted, I do enjoy the soap operas Played there, while hoping to remain sheltered from life As long as would I be living! But soap bubbles are yet so fragile Existence itself, from the realms not yet named, Held out its finger and poked my fortress open So that I could help it not I had to live life as it should be! Life, so strong and mighty, had me lowering my eyelids, Swallowing my gulps and heaving painful sighs Life, so bent on being, cared not about my needs of comfort Life, rather, had me cringing about it, wishing for soap bubbles still But, walking my path as I should be!
