Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required The sun is up and it’s the start of a new day. I get up with everyone else and stand in line. We all wait to see who’s going which way. I’m ready to begin, because today I’ll shine. A storm came through and destroyed our home. A lot of friends were lost and were never found. Through bad times like this, we shouldn’t roam. We have to stick together and stand our ground. When my name is called, I step up to the table. They tell me that today I’m going to move dirt. It’ll be a little painful, but I know that I’m able. After all, what is sacrifice without a little hurt? Our home needs rebuilding and it won’t take long If we all chip in to help and do our part. I know it’s hard work, but I think it is wrong To sit back and watch and not have a heart. We’re in this together, and I’ll give it my best. So, I hurry on over to work with the others. After hours of digging, some friends need a rest. So, we rotate our jobs, relieving one another. While some of us dig tunnels, others build the town. We work hard until we’re finished; it’s the life of a drone. As nighttime approaches, we begin to wind down, All of us realizing, we couldn’t have done it alone. We take a step back and check out our little place, Knowing that together we can weather anything. As we sit back to relax, we look at the queen’s face. With her approval, it’s now time to celebrate and sing.
