Sanity
I'm glad I knew you before you poisoned your veins, It's time to accept you'll never be the same. I must let go of my grasp on the past, Not that the good times really did last. Deceit filled with sweetness is your forte, I'm done playing your fool for another day. I'm done with this Bullshit and I'm looking ahead, Pointing the other direction while smiling instead. I was trying so hard to help you and I lost myself, Gave everything I had, loving you more than life itself. I've always held on deep down inside to that spark of hope, That one day you'd be who you were before the dope. You're so damaged, your mind, body, and soul. You've lost yourself and lost all control. Deep down inside I know that you once cared, I also know that you're scarred and scared. In my heart I'll keep the good that you shared. You once touched my mind and soul, you'll always be a part, Deep inside the crevices of the darkest part of my heart. Even though you will never comprehend what you mean to me, I must let go, move on and be free for my own sanity.
