Weight of the Wicked
WEIGHT OF THE WICKED So many years without joy. She yearned for a girl or boy. This mysterious man had eyes for her. She became an unwilling participant, as his toy. Wickedness he would ruthlessly employ. Bloodstained penetration became a blur. He left her cruelly bound, her heart’s defeat, Her knees could not find their way to the mercy seat. She was at the threshold of death at her own hand - Anger, jealousy and covetousness her life’s cheat. Constantly she wondered if she was just a piece of meat. She held onto her nightstand, as she quivered in quicksand. Not tempted by diet, she gained a few pounds. She had to flee from the rapist’s ravenous sounds. Her rotting lot, “feeling sorry for herself” bloodshot vanity, As memory brought the calling of demonic hounds. Curvature of her lips- no ups, only downs - Her piteous cries never heard on the otherside of sanity. Dismal fate, like hardened charcoal, blackened heart. Life told her to “lie down in the bed she made,” part From even, the meager life she’d chiseled out. Her neighbor found her, cut out the devil’s dart . Cleaned up, loved for the first time, she had a cardiac-start. Faith restored, removed the numbing cold and doubt.A doctor’s examine revealed, a conception, not all fat. Mixed feelings tortured her once more, like a gnawing rat. Strangely with a stranger’s heartbeat and breath, Love warmed her, through and through, like a welcoming mat. She even adopted, a wise and adoring, calico cat. Her compassionate friend saved her and her daughter from death. 9/21/2017 Rhyme in 5 Contest using the following words: 1.) piteous 2.) bloodstained 3.) threshold 4.) conception 5.) dismal
