The Psychedelic Worm
The Psychedelic Worm . . . Right - who has nabbed my magic mushrooms that were growing in the grass Low and behold soon as I find out who it is I’m gonna whoop your flippin’ ass The garden gnomes dropped their lines and rods and did themselves a runner One got stuck in the hole in the fence red faced he cried out “What a bummer” The birds for some strange reason were all leaning to one side - straightened On hearing my voice boom even the darn leaves on the trees were all shaken I scanned the garden with vigour to see if there was anything else was a miss Even the sunflowers were leaning - and were trying hard to give me a hot kiss Low didn’t I spot a worm that was prancing about with eyes as big as golf balls Tripping the light fandango with a green leaf held up - just how he had the gall I could hear this little voice and ventured a bit nearer he was singing to a tune “I’m singing in the rain - I’m singing in the rain” - a rather - melancholic croon He seemed so flippin’ happy - as he danced his way all around the green grass Me - at the little worm could only stand and watch - I could not help but laugh The birds started leaning to one side again and the sunflowers wavered a wink The garden gnomes all returned and passed me a reefer and I was tickled pink We sat in the garden watching the worm do his rendition of “If I were rich man” Then as a precaution we whipped him off to hospital to have a worm brain scan He made a full recovery I'm more that glad to say - now I keep him in a jam jar That has its own little pub as the worm is now up and away holding up the bar I have put the magic mushrooms patch into its own box within a - darken room So if I ever feel the need to be off my head it’s off into the cupboard I will zoom Indiana Shaw . . . ; )
