The Blame Game
It was an arranged marriage She was beautiful and he loved her at first sight But she was ostracized for giving birth to a girl child Blame the dame is the game She always kept his things neat and tidy But his glasses he never had a fixed place to keep Yet he never ceased to ask her where she left them Blame the dame is the game It would be nice she said to do some charity So he took up the cause for the sake of his own vanity When things went well, he shone in glory But when hell broke loose , he said but it was you who told me Blame the dame is the game And in the garden they were Two of kind and yet very different Till the serpent played his tempting game He turned to God and said, but it was she who gave me Blame the dame is the game She asked God Why did you make them so weak Did you not give them strength to bear their own conscience Is it in their nature to be always right It that why in the world we have so much strife.
