Violet
Violet: Little bits of blue Violets are blooming in fields And in the meadows. Violets rage with indigo pulses beneath the shadows of your parents' porch; Spitting purple, but soaking the rainbow from whatever light granted by the sun. Violets The word tingles me Somehow. I don't know But it feels weird. To me Violets roses are Definitely more beautiful Than red ones. I feel like Everything is a metaphor Including you. You're violet And you're more beautiful Than the blood running In my veins. But then The sky is black at night And violets Would be swallowed. Influenced. You'd turn into black Even if it's only for the night. Metaphors inside my head Irrelevant, illogical. I imagined you Turning into a radiant violet Rebirthed at dawn Majestic. I bring you violets, Stalks melt in my hand. Heart in my throat, Words tried and planned. Amethyst petals reflect in Sapphire eyes, Purple clouds in violet skies. A Sapphic natured sapphire desire; I bring you violets, Our secrets transpired Though moonlight and dreams may be Our starlit route to ecstasy, A touch holds more than worlds can show, In planetary light's day-glow; And soft words said at evening-fall May hold a captive heart in thrall. I long to take you all the way, Somewhere even words can't say; Somewhere stars won't disappear, Whether it be far or near- And timid Violet's in the shade Will know that they by love were made.
