The Towers
The Towers By Franklin Price 9/11/2017 We must not forget the towers That fell on nine-one-one Already sixteen years ago Times since have not been fun The many deaths and losses That brought us all together This day is happening again With Irma's stormy weather Why is it we can't get along Unless by devastation To be the greatest place on earth We're a pretty stupid nation Maybe too much freedom To dwell on our wants and needs In devastation, forced to face ourselves And our selfish acts and deeds Seems only terror does that If by nature or by man What a shameful observation As we march from where we stand I ask you to consider Why you think the way you do If terror drives your thinking Please think about that too Your neighbor's not your enemy Though they may not think as you To make a friend must be a friend They may think you're quite wrong too. So remember that the towers fell By a hand we failed to see We should evaluate our actions We're our own worst enemy
