With a twist and a tilt of her head, it swallows her into its depth. Fruitless and powerless, in its clutches, she is kept. With bated breath she holds out a scrap of hope, By now, she’s reached the fabled end of her rope. A silent scream is frozen on her parted lip, Her heart from her trembling chest is about to rip. Sure of a certain death as she is carried over the protruding precipice of the chasm, Her body is wracked with uncontrollable, unrelenting, mind-numbing spasms. Frozen, but curious, she can’t help but glance Into the awaiting, gaping maw, which she will now forever dance. The tortured princess now closes her eyes and is ready to take the plunge into the waste, Numbing her tongue, the fire-ice tomb, of which she will soon taste. Out of the cataclysmic blackness , a single outstretched hand Without qualm, chastisement or demand. Greedily she reached out for the gift Causing the precarious, unbound Earth to shift. Desperately she clung steadfast to her crumbling foundation, Questioning, skeptical of Who would offer Her salvation. “Let go” came the simple request. “Come to me, your weary body rest.” Adamant, she still faltered at the simple but challenging test. Hesitantly, her hand strayed from her unstable hold. Her ice-torn body numbing from the cold. Suddenly, she felt her footing slip and down she fell, Into the barren, icy, swirling, torrential hell. As quickly as she felt cold numb her being, she blinked back tears, wiped her eyes To understand exactly what she was seeing. The unquestionable meaning unmistakable, A bridge had been forged, its foundation unshakable. Out of nothing, an answer, from above, An unshakeable, unbreakable, unmistakable, bridge forged of an unconditional, unrelenting love.
