Loving Again
The Greeks have three words for love, and the English has only one. They are: Agape(Godly), Eros(Romantic), and Phileo(Friendship). You are afraid to love(Eros) again.* A most pleasing and tasteful experience has turned sour. The sourness narrows your confidence in future prospects. You are afraid to love again because you have trust issues. You have those trust issues because you have been betrayed. You have been betrayed, but the betrayal has nothing to do with you. It has nothing to do with you because the other person has inner issues. You could not have solved those issues and neither will the next person. You must understand this, believe this, get over the betrayer, and be the 'best you' possible. Must one or more sour grapes shut me down and render future experiences unpalatable? No! We love food, and also eat food to live. Without teeth, perfectly good and savory foods would not be digested. What if we had no tongues to taste, detect and distinguish the many and various foods? The first time that I bit my tongue, I determined immediately to never eat again. The pain was so severe that the use of my teeth and tongue together did not justify the pain I felt. Well, obviously, I got over the pain. I ate again, and for a lifetime, have enjoyed the process. So is the case with love. The value of love far exceeds the possibility and reality of the pain that accompanies love. Principally speaking and in its purest sense, all forms of love is based in "giving'. In the Garden of Eden, God was betrayed by the love of His life. In my view and understanding, the two human beings made in His image were the highlight of His creation. God made adjustments, but never stopped loving. God so loved, that he received and took. No!No!No!No!No! God so loved that He gave, and will continue to do so throughout eternity. Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes! 09092017 PS Contest, Help Me Fall In Love, Mystic Rose *1 John 4:18
