History Repeats Itself
History Repeats Itself By Franklin Price 9/2/2017 History repeats itself, whenever we forget. It may take a century, or maybe more, and yet, It will most likely happen, if a person caused it then, For humans in their nature, will try it once again. Whether it worked then, or not, doesn't matter much Ignorance of history, keeps such people out of touch. If Pearl Harbor never happened, and the holocaust the same Why should we pay attention to how others play the game Strength always drives the tendencies of power hungry men Let all the history be damned, let's try this once again There's no one there to stop me, no one's watching out for me They're comfortable with what they have, ignoring history that will be. The U.S.A.'s the richest and most powerful on Earth Have had the highest morals since our founders gave it birth We fought for independence and a civil cause or two Cannot forget our history for we've shaped the world anew. We must all work together, and not tear us all asunder Can't forget the Civil War that almost put us under We're all again the U.S.A. and slavery was beat Don't dine on the thought of that, for we are what we eat. African Americans are now not slavery bound Opportunities are much the same for everyone around Constantly reminding all, will keep your efforts fraught You're free to do whatever, you should not be sold or bought Likewise the white Americans are not the best of all To think so show's your ignorance, does not prepare you for the fall As long as we the people, do not fight the fight together We're in for more of what we have; unrelenting stormy weather. So let us work together, all races and all creeds. To find a way to provide for all, at least to satisfy our needs For more than that, we're on our own, our efforts will prevail If you find your boat is sinking, it is your job to bail.
