Flowing
My fountain is dry, breath of life flows from the face no more It's positioned for my bride to see that it may please her view Life comes to the source of water, birds rely Contentment supplied for all I've filled it so many times, true source it is not At times water just evaporates into the atmosphere Reconciling it's energy debt to the universe But more often than not it leaks Cracks in the vessel, disrupted water lines, and poorly positioned pieces Give permission for life to be squandered I fix this and that to alleviate my loss to no avail My fountain destined to self destruct There is no kinetic energy, everything is static So I grab the hose again and invest more water And the birds and the view return continuing the illusion That my fountain flows freely
