Think About It
What is souring your mood, what exactly is troubling you? Whenever you wrap your thoughts around it, you start slipping deeper into the depression pit Pharmaceutical solutions are in the night stand bottom drawer Pop a prescription pill, anxieties fade ... dulled senses don’t have to worry no more Try not to think about it, you won’t let it enter your mind this time Suspicions snaking through the mental backdoor, doubts now slithering up your spinal cord Did your betrothed man sexually abuse your child? She’s just a young girl, not yet thirteen Shifting sands of emotions: you’re angry, you’re scared You wonder, does the liquor bottle get him morally impaired? It could be jealousy that’s making you possibly falsely accuse him When you tried asking your daughter about it, she didn’t say a word, just gave you a hollow stare Eyes empty ... mind elsewhere And you’re don’t wanna confront your man, afraid the truth might shatter your dreams You love the money he gives you, you love that diamond engagement ring Now you’re having the same nightmare over again — you’re holding a gun, and your bedroom is the crime scene Your future spouse lay in a pool of blood, and your daughter comes and gives you a smile and a hug Think about it, don’t go blood simple and blindly react Think about it, don’t let raw, irrational fear become fact Know the truth, before you pick up that gun and squeeze the trigger Take a small step back, before you make your guilty conscience get any bigger
