My Global Warming Theory
This morning, I was thinking about global warming and the high probability of flooding in the state of Florida, and out of control wildfires in the western states, and the extinction of certain animals and plants, and new infectious disease outbreaks that will cause my fellow humans to spend a lot of money to increase their ages before death, and I wondered about the cost of air conditioning for our dwellings, and became both concerned and confused about why some of our world leaders seemed to be ignoring the reality of climate change on this planet we call Earth? Then I calculated that in eighty-three years it will be the year 2100, and I’d be 156 years old if I were still alive and ready to eat breakfast before nine in the morning. Then I thought my youngest granddaughter would be ninety-five so her children’s children would be the ones having to figure out how to live on a planet that didn’t have a lot of edible food or a lot of technology that still worked in the darkness of night, and that people would no longer be allowed to have any dogs or cats as family pets.
