Our Time Is Borrowed
Our time is borrowed Desolate soul of barren thought, Derailed of conscience clear, Upon this peaceful evening brought a sadness almost near. The devastating news is crippling. How can this even be? Her voice still echoes in my ears? It brings with it a tear Memories and moments spent of every day, of every year. No! No more can I watch her suffering, Our memories, the moments spent, Our time is borrowed, I relent. Must I capitulate to your wielding power? With devastating news, you tower. Allow me time, I plead The morphine numbs her pain, My tears bleed like falling rain. How will I deal with this hard blow I see no more her shining glow She is all I have, so dear to me, she is my mother. She held on all night long She knew I could not bear, My Farewell to share She waited while I showered and peaceful she slipped away into the arms or her loving son, my brother. RIP Jenny
