A Cold Cold Heart
A COLD COLD HEART This as such is an unrequited love that is as dark as it is deep And from the poets' words, the pens blood ink, it doeth weep You have been left alone and forsaken, by this cold cold heart To a heart once whole, as broken, then to be wrenched apart Fools are we not to have given our love to such a closed-door With a loosely tangible hope, that, one day it might give more A cold cold heart sees us coming, with it, it opens us to abuse Closing the door once more; when we then, become of no use Tortured souls are we not; to be punishing, only our poor self Then only to return home; to place our sad tears upon a shelf Our eyes never to be open; until we are ready, to see the light For some it will be too late as they will never see another night The cold cold heart teaches, us something, we all have to learn Not to weep my friend; or, love for a heart, not yours to yearn It’s better to be lonely; still waiting for a love that’s is requited Than try to light a fire; fan a flame, that just will not be ignited It has no love to give you, will never warm you within the heart Can only suck on your emotional blindness, from the very start No matter however painful this can be, is it not time to set free A disentangled heart that could belong to one other, than thee Indiana Shaw . . . -_- Inspired by Nicola Byrne poem, A Heart weeps for all it never had
