Shade
7/21/17 Near and far from any cascade On land into waters where you're can or can't wade Here to help and offer aid It's no charade Work being surveyed Before I went at it and gave My all with fervor as I engaged In the shade On a very steep grade Cutting up weeds and grass blades I'm feeling unafraid And brave Ready to trail blaze Even though it's all been so strange And there has been unexpected change Beyond any decade Lifeforms continued to live or decayed I still do now and at a younger age I liked the smell of burning sage Been on either side of the stage Time I turn another page Can't stay stuck inside a cage Or I'll fill up with rage Knowledge continually obtained While I still remain Using my aim And brain In order to gain Before I'm in the grave
