A Poem For My Orion
A poem for my Orion Who cowers in the sky For many years, his faithful hunting dog Was always by his side. “Orion you are iniquitous, You do not shine so bright.” The dog's thoughts were ubiquitous He would go there tonight. He made his way there hurriedly He had made up his mind To sort the contrariety, He was no longer blind. He saw Orion standing there His face was so contrite, Despite all the memories The dog was filled with spite. He asked Orion sternly “Why do you look so dull? I have come all this way Our memories to cull." “This friendship you repudiated.” “Your convoluted reasons, ”Just like a twisted labyrinth Changed just like the seasons. “A vicious plot you crafted Why did you not lament? You knew I was obdurate, Not one to pretend.” “My feelings were abstruse, Never was I devious “But you, my friend on the other hand, Were false, and so obsequious." "You thought I was a fool! With silky, clever, flattery my company you sought, I paid for it handsomely, Was your friendship bought?" "Let this now ruminate, Mull it in your Head The friendship that we had, You made sure it was dead." "Did you hear me ululate? I did not make a sound, My disappointment though, It was indeed Profound!” The dog continued ranting, This was long overdue. Orion stood there very still His mutterings were muted. What ever he dared to say, Would always be refuted. "This friendship you abjured, Why did you leave me wounded? No cogent persuasion? You used me I concluded." “I thought I was your buddy, “Your” person as you say, I was always faithful, Shared with you each day." “You knew that I would find you A coward I am not. Are you surprised to see me here? Or have you now forgot?” “You were once a friend to me, A trusted source, and hope, Alas you are my Nemesis, And I am now your foe.” “For all our special memories the musings that we shared, And yet just like a scavenger, Robbed, me though you dared!" “ Go! now My Orion, Wear that forlorn frown Birthed upon a place of piss, It was not I, but venom that brought you down." The dog was silent Uttered not one sound. A new and welcome peace He sought, he spoke, and it was found. He glanced back at Orion, As he turned on foot to leave He felt so sick and nauseous, He began to heave. The hunting dog had left, He longed to see his face, No longer by his side, Instead, the Scorpion was chasing him through space.
