The Girl Who Called Herself Useless
She was once full of life, once a glowing, overflowing vessel of sheer happiness. She held the hands of a million friends, they had her back and in turn she had theirs. There was not a single person she didn't give a bright smile and a helping hand to. But no one could see her crumbling inside with every word thrown at her. No one could see her cowering, hands over her ears, as she tried to shut out the curses and hate they threw at her. What's worse, they came from the people one would least expect. Each word filled with so much hate and spite, stripped of every ounce of love you'd never guess they came from her parents. The very people who were supposed to love and help her. There was, however, a louder, more lethal voice. It was her own, mocking her for her inability to stand, to fight for herself, to be heard. She was her own worst enemy. Even in her own eyes, she was useless.
