The Swing and the Sea
Happy lonely corridor I miss the swing you welcomed out of your fringes I miss your brown shades of emotions I miss accompanying your gaze searching for the horizon When evening rattled her way through your barricades Dusky hues couldn't drench your ways Sporadic rain enunciating your darkness Would climb up my neck And immerse in my tied up knot of haywire thoughts! Alas! With another brown poured And another ...and another I see the contours of your banal existence While the joy you give me for keeping me safe Perhaps you wish that the days were numbered for you too... So with sunrises and sunsets and humourless rain You weave the memories of the entrapped sea And some entrapped souls... Who are your friends, my friend? Whom do you make love to when the rooms are empty? Whom do you long for when your swing hasn't creaked since the last footstep caressed her shores? The bearded man and lonely corridor You don't know how much you are the same, As I sit under familiar skies I bask in the gentle sways of your thankful swing And the unborn promises of that nascent romance How I wish to own you forever! Happy lonely corridor, I will save your soul one day.
