When Roses Cry
The roses that you grew for me, Were such a lovely sight to see. Brought forth joy at each new dawn, Their former beauty has now gone. Once stood so proudly in their beds, Now sadly hang their withered heads. Cheerful ruby red blossoms I miss, Wafting their scent sweet as a kiss. Use to reach skyward stretching tall, Now only lambent teardrops fall. I cannot bare to watch them cry, Yet guilt whispers the reasons why. These precious flowers that you planted, By true love’s spell became enchanted. Passion made them gloriously bloom, My foolish mistake roused this gloom. Careless folly brought on this rain, I cut your heart bringing you pain. Innocence I shall not pretend, My choices I will not defend. Humbly offer upon my knees, Sincerest of apologies. Hope in time you will forgive, Please help my magic garden live. Let’s put aside our gray sorrows, Look forward to sunny tomorrows.
