Mother River
I would rather hear the sound of water gushing from the rocks Than to hear his deceitful voice whispering in my ears I would rather listen to the birds singing in the trees Than to listen to his ruthless words echoing around the world And making mischief in the underworld The Gods has redeem me from this dreadful storm And has given me another chance I can hear their voices loud and clear and I have nothing to fear Evil men who have taken innocent lives stand naked and bare in front of the blood stained throne with blood spilling all around I anchored my chair on top of rock in the middle of the riverbed and gazed at the trees that form an arch way above my head The water flows harmonious around me While the branches praises the Gods who are protecting me The water makes music in my ears And the trees with their prolific energy wave their branches in the sky and rejoice in the grand jubilee The sharks have disappeared and I held on to something strong and divine I have mastered the art of humility And I can feel the presence of God besides me The river is stronger than the soul of man And water is healing and cleansing for the land It washes the dreadful dirt and grime away So that I can find a quiet place to stay I gazed at the road carved out at the bottom of the river Looking at the pebbles lying quiet and still It is leading me to a path where someone has once lived Oh mother river you have revived my soul And has rescued me from the ghastly black hole.
