Carpets Versus Ledges Versus Houses
Carpet spoke. "It is only Tuesday and already I am covered in pieces and all that straw and occasional crisp. I have no mouth. I cannot possibly devour it. Where are my friends the hoovering Harriet and the Belinda broomstick? Where is Derek dustpan? I feel quite abandoned really. And I shall start to rise up where the glue is. Trip you all up I will." The silence radiated around and around the rooms. Interjected with the odd toot from a train and a bird squawking for some bread. The stillness is neither a safety nor a swamped stressed signal. And the window ledge barked back in annoyance. "YOU are a lucky carpet." He said. "At least you are brushed occasionally and hoovered. I am merely swept off. And I am pretty sick of those people lighting that smell stuff then leaving the dust around on me. I was such a clean ledge too. I miss my fine white glow. Now I am lucky if I glow once a month especially since the skirted one started typing". The carpet became quiet for a moment. The ledge had a point. And points pointing points plan permits permitting premonitions prevalently. Knowingly he spoke in a low voice. "But they brush all that dust on me and leave me. We are both ignored. I agree with you about the skirt typist. She doesn't bother doing much really does she. Always typing away or reading. Then in a mood bangs around. Looking worried sometimes. Then at other times when the other people are around she either flies around the house like a bird but making a pig sound. Ir dances like a chicken. But mainly in that kitchen. And whilst cooking too. How silly! We should ask the lino how he feels? And maybe form an alliance." The ledge thought for a moment. It was no good to argue when unison meant changes. "Right, I am going to push these ornaments off and you carpet can pull up at the edges. We will show them". And they began. All over the house the corners lifted and the ledges lobbed their ornaments. The riot and chaos was all over. Witnessed by the dog who was half asleep after a chicken roast dinner. The people returned to scenes akin to a farmyard slump. They were not amused and ran around frantically sorting it all out. All out is all in and all on is neither an ant amongst the amounts or a seagull flapping in a car. Cartwheeling cat cleverly closes chaos. On a chaise lounge. And the drip from a tap takes tempers. Ha a beef bean bags a basket ball ha a lemon cheesecake is delivered to a pigeon coop. Xxxxx culminating z z z z z z at thirteen eels to nine digging draperies z
