My Dream
I had a dream the other night And the whole world was at peace It was a world filled with love And I felt totally at ease There were no wars or violence Everyone saw eye to eye Our future looked as bright As the stars up in the sky I could see into our future So clear and so strong And everyone felt safe We all felt like we belong Was it just a dream That we have no more war No-one knowing hunger No-one knowing what it’s like to be poor It shouldn’t be just a dream It should be a reality Where everyone feels safe And not live in fear like you and me We need a better world for our children So a bright future can be theirs The way the world is now It’s a sorry state of affairs Lets look to a future When differences can be resolved If there’s to be a wind of change We must all get involved Politicians are vote-catching Stopping us all in the street We must all choose wisely And not admit defeat If only the real world Could be like my dream Be careful who you vote for They may not be how they seem
