A Viewpoint of Man
There are numerous theories of the origin of man Opposing viewpoints on how he began Perhaps through evolutionary stages man evolved from the chimpanzee Carelessly swinging on parch branches of his family tree Or by way of Yahweh's omnipotent hand Created in God's image woman and man To have dominion over all living things According to the parable of Adam and Eve History has chronicled the rise and fall Of a faithless species disobedient to civilized law Seeking to answer where he has gone wrong Man continues to erect a self serving image to conceal his flaws The present condition of the human race Steep in confusion and rising at a dangerous pace Returning to our original debate I ponder if man is a creation of a supreme being Or, a befuddled creature of lower intellect than the chimpanzee
