Staring Into Outer Space
STARING INTO OUTER SPACE lingering effects of this drug called life. gravity keeps my feet on this quivering orb, with rotation inside my head. i yearn to rocket off to deep space, far away from reality. lingering effects of this drug called life, where a soul departed, this planet shut up, behind closed doors. Meanwhile, life continued beyond this iron mask, where we didn’t hear a sound. lingering effects, of this drug called life, where objects reveal, his final steps, his heartbeat and breath: an illusory cart, a crate with his name tag, a van door waiting to be closed. lingering effects of this drug, called life. life will go on all the same, and the warmness of an ethereal body, will nonetheless exist in our minds, staring into outer space, with artificial breath.
