Chase the Wind
As I chase the wind; the rain begins; as the sun shines on my face; and I have no space; Got nowhere to hide, nowhere to run; Must stand, must take hold of his hands; for in his hands he hold a gun he'll lead and I will... follow, shallow my pride; He's right here, right here by my side; must not run after the sun; For every man's someone's son; this is a new day dawn; as I chase the wind the rain stills; As I pop the pills; my pains still rages... the sun shines on my face; and I have, haven't gotten a place; a place to hide; a place to abide; so this I decide; I shouldn't have lied... got nowhere to run; still being treated by the man with a gun; what's this in his side; what's on his mind, my thoughts are not on him; why does he grin; this is genocide; yet I still must hide; I'm yet on the Lords side; why do you cry. . . got no where to hide, nowhere to run; must stand, must take hold of his hands; the man with the gun; must stand he'll lead I will follow, yet I'll follow the one who follows the Son; can't you feel it? as it dons on me; I've been given a sweet relief; grass is growing, rains falling down; My hands are lifted up as my praises coming down; My God, my God, Jesus shall lead me; out of my distress; For only Him and I know that I am blessed; as I chase the wind, the rain begins; as the sun shines on my face; and I have no space; got nowhere to hide, none place to run; got rain all over my face; must stand and face the sun; as it's burning my retinal; I have eyes but yet I can't see it must be victory; as I chase the wind I've been given release I've got the victory 06/17/74 Written words & arranged music by James Edward Lee From demo cassette & album "The Word May End Tomorrow" 1974, 2017(c)
