The Askance Chapter 4 Part 2a
To Usher In The Inevitable It was to be moments never thought to be Moments to only belong in dreams Darkness too dark to come before humanities to see Minds in paranoia is ever to seem… I knew that dreams were my portal into the Ancients Yet I never can accept this truth whence sleep favour How is one to live separate lives for when time transients? To learn an equality for the troubled mind to savour Perhaps from some light I have accepted my fate And from its holiness, I have remembered love Though of probability I’m nevermore to await To only The Goddess of Word I’m to uphold my place to serve Consume by my own wrath, I’m to prepare For this one dream, for this one night Perhaps from a misguided strength, I’m to dare To embrace my role and to venture forth as a knight And as I settle myself down, of sleep I welcome… Its ironic how much easier it is when acceptance is all Where dreams is to gather as I become as one There isn’t much of myself I’m ever so to recall {I was in the ancient land all at once There isn’t even a path of returning to chance And I saw in my hand… the demonic Sword of Sins A metal edged to aid me in every lunatic dream Across my chest as well, was the amulet since engifted Imbued now of the Defier as of how fate decided Further still, I can only detached myself from everything I was No more must I despair from those every a thing that was lost With strength anew, I ran alongside Alkaiya The Mistress of War Anxious to gain knowledge to the mystery of our path lain afore Though of the Leech-King still following suit from behind I came to realize that it isn’t the demon I’m at fear this time It was the fear of knowing that of which evil is to triumph over good And simply of morality, evil must never be allowed to take root The Temple of Erl-gria still lay a distance so far and away Are we to outrun the Leech-King and to keep the minions at bay? It was then, I saw us on some nightly desert-like ground With silence too astoundingly silent, without no sound Skeletons in armour were heaped all over the bloodied sands Shields and swords were scattered as well in this death fill land Coming to a halt, I notice Alkaiya sensing the silence as well And I knew, from a troubling mind is trouble to sell I held my sword firmly, readying myself for anything! Though equipped, I’m unskilled yet in nevertheless everything Disorientated, I saw Alkaiya withdrawing her arrow Whispering an enchantment after, for perhaps some protection to borrow
