My Sadness Wears a Smile - Repost
My sadness wears a smile - Repost “My darkness shall forever see, the happiness you brought to me” My sadness wears a smile when my eyes are closed, keeping me from seeing what waits outside on that lonely pathway leading through the park we always talked about walking Our song plays on the radio and I hear it calling in the darkness, the melody is soft and drifting, echoing through the room in the sweetest harmonies of you and me The taste of your euphoric kiss still lingers upon my lips as I dare not speak for fear of losing the sensation that caressed me in a feeling of ambrosia, desperate for the moment to be unending I encounter your eyes staring, floating in my sorrowed mind, mahogany planets hypnotically orbiting this vast space that engulfs me, remnants of a dream, circling the universe, eclipsing an April moon we once called ours And as I hold the poetry you sent, I do not see the words promising forever love but caress the paper folded neatly to fit snuggly in the envelopes addressed to me, never to let go Still I cannot look because when my eyes are opened they are filled with tears for the endless days ahead without you here, but closed I can see what we had together Reminding me that if I had never had you in my life, the beauty that we shared might not have been and without you my sadness would not be able to wear this smile remembering how it felt, to be loved by you
