The Night Sky
Lucky we are to inhabit Earth at such a time Yes, a time when science allows us to see For ourselves why the Milky Way got its name Each night, one glance at the stars and the moon fills us with glee Why, at night time, shining down at us Are planets, keepers of the mystery of our existence If only, if only I could fly, if only I were a Goddess I would have made it a point to enjoy each night, a galactic dance! Jumping on Mars, immersing myself in its rocky aura Burning on Venus, pretending that I am as mighty as fire Singing on Jupiter, awaking its well hidden fauna and flora And dreaming on Pluto, dreaming of earthly love and desire! Why, the night sky is such, powerful enough as to set into motion That which keeps us alive, our childish imagination! 30 April 2017
