Heart In Hand
My heart's held hostage by three words, love, fear, and doubt; share equal thirds. And countless tears have wet the ground, for hope, once lost, is seldom found. You know just how to make me cry, and when you do, I want to die. And I swear that my love is true, for my heart's closed to all but you. Skirting the fringes of insane, you acquiesce to mounting strain. And view love through a fog of lies, where shadows deceive blinded eyes. Your sweet disposition turns sour when you try to exert power. And you treat me with such disdain, anxiety feeds off my pain. Do you no longer desire me, would you like me to set you free? For if you care for me at all, why would you want to see me crawl? Here I stand, broken heart in hand, stuck in emotional quicksand. But before my heart can repair, I need to hear that you still care. (Rhyme) 4/24/2017
