Paradox of Dual Souls
Why do bad things always happen When it's happiness I sought The shine of a fancy lover Got my attention and I was cought A battle raged on for years Happening inside my brain The almighty human power Capable of so much pain To fool oneself is one thing To believe it quite another I'd drown my feelings in alcohol Intoxication became my lover With this warped way of thinking And so it became my life The only one who cared for me Was my sweet little wife She stuck with me all the way Most bad times some good I vowed to quit the drinking Though I knew I never could Then one day something happened Fell into place and clicked I learned it was my mind That I myself had tricked The paradox of dual souls Is what was wrong with me At last I've found the chains Once I break them I'll be free
