For Sake of the Page
A sheet of paper lies on my desk in silence untainted, unadorned by ink or dreams, lifeless still as night, inviting words and thoughts The first in a book of unwritten song, soon to be forever changed when inspiration finds a place within the lines, the pages comes alive Full of intense drama and soft hearted verse about love, life, and living Under the pens black soul it finds a purpose, maybe to tell of a tree from which it was born, memories of a past life, a new love in need of expression, an old friend in need of comfort So many possibilities, but this page stands in praise, for itself and for the ones who follow, To sing only about it's place in the world To hold in it's arms a thought, a dream To be the resting place of a fallen star A song For the Sake of the Page
