The Fate of Man
The fate of Man weighs heavy on His soul, exploiting the Earth, ego in control. And as resources shrink, demand inflates and the effect is disaster awaits. A sullied sun eclipses skies of blue, as rusty rays color a poison brew. And as virgin mountains are stripped of trees, topsoil gets blown away with every breeze. Slicks of oil spread like a blanket of death, slowly robbing the sea otter of breath. And fish are ravaged by commercial nets, millions of tons get caught with no regrets. Trusted with Gaia's health, Man's let Her down, waters are rising, and we may all drown. For both of Her poles are melting away, vast sheets of ice splitting off every day. As plates shift, Gaia's crust starts quaking, for long-dormant volcanos are waking. And being raped by the seed of Her womb, She weaves a new Earth on Her magma loom. (Rhyme) 4/12/2017
