Funeral For An Ant
Bugged off by a minor trouble on a dreary Saturday, I was stomping my foot and punching things as life didn’t go my way. Ahead of me on the empty road was a line of ants finding something new. As I dragged my feet in rage, a little red one got crushed under my shoe. Strains of guilt suddenly struck my heart, But I thought I shouldn’t worry; after all everyone does depart. And so many people crush ants; it ain’t that big a crime. But I could see for the ants, my minor trouble had caused a major grieving time. Even the queen ant arrived and covered the lifeless red lad with a leaf, While the other ants and bees got some twigs and prayed that he finds peace. The culprit that’s me saw this from a distance but they had no clue. My eyes grew watery as I realized even in a colony of millions, each ant had value, After the sympathies were paid, I walked to the tomb of leaves and twigs realizing that all this was real, That every being could feel love, every being could feel pain, every being could feel…
