Single Mother
She’s all alone, Supporting the one she loves No man climbing the obstacles she faces She’s all alone, Her job only helps her pay the bills Not to show her child what the world offers Her child is growing everyday With no man there to see The mother makes decisions she never imagined Her child sees what she does They see she’s all alone, It’s seen what she goes through She wants a better life for her child She is always fighting to survive Just to see her child thrive She is weak but she is strong It’s one way she cannot be wrong She’s all alone, Living in a place she would never call home It was the only place she could find That was decent enough for her child to breathe Someday they would be on their own Breathing easier than she ever has Now she teaches her child to never, Ever, give up on themselves or others Because they are strong no matter what She’s all alone, No man to degrade her child She prays for forgiveness Hopes that her child will never experience what she has Just because she knows how hard it is To be alone, Fighting takes strength And that’s what she’s gained since raising her child She raises her head high Because she knows No matter how hard her child falls, She will be there to catch them, because they are not alone.
