It tore my soul to tatters small And framed it upon a wall, Quite like that of a crucifix That it could be seen by all. I had no choice but bear with it Ravaged by my hallowed fate, All I could do was harder pray To erase my dismal state. Its then I heard a voice within Which urged me to stand again, Goading me that I give not up However deep be the pain. No greater struggle I did face To gather up all my wits, For it lay scattered in fragments Some in pieces, some in bits. So long it took a longer while That I lost count of the days, Yet knew that life had vagaries And such were the worldly ways. Blessing it is to fight it out Matters not we lose or win, To shy away from battles hard There can be no greater sin.
