And reason dies in the wake of this thing, drowning in the hurt that it's sure to bring. I awake every day feeling its pain, why I endure it is hard to explain. But yelling and crying won't make it go, for it digs in, when the tears start to show. Sorting out truths within garbage of lies, it wades through refuse immune to surprise. Yet in the eyes of my son, it's evil, keeping his life in constant upheaval. My agony's increased over the years, my nerves are tattered and twisted by fears. And though it's crazy, I beg it to stay, absolving its pain as it rips away. I'll gladly suffer its wrath to my death, and welcome its sting with my final breath.
