They Have Feelings Too
People write on paper so that they can refer later, But this I write in your hearts, where it will be kept, safe, fresh and alive. We’ve brought upon ourselves calamities, that are sweeping away our communities, But it’s not time to lament or comment, but to act fast and swift. I call upon the energetic young men, The wise old men, women, the rich and the poor, To stand together as one and help fight this “Satan” Where is our environment? That was once beautiful and full of life. Where are the tall green trees? That once graced the scenery, and made it look great, Fresh, and cool. It’s gone!! Gone by the wind that sweeps across the Sahara desert. It pains my soul and haunts my being, Waking up at the site of huge lorries full of charcoal, Yet you and I can do something To put an end to this act that never ends. I’m speaking to myself, I’m speaking to you, I’m speaking to kenya, I’m speaking to Africa, And speaking to the world, Lets stand together, and fight for the helpless voiceless trees. Lets try put ourselves in their shoes and have a feel of what they go through day in day out, Year in year out, Losing those that they call their own to people they are supposed to call upon.
