Morning Ritual
I have become a home of my own, instead of searching for one in another. My arms, reach around me as an endless beam of self-love and security. My body is my frame, I won’t let a hurricane come in and tear me down. No not now, Because I’m tired of going south, tired of feeling washed up and God I’m so tired of this drought. When I pray on my knees to the moon and the stars, I feel a tug from within that swears I’ll go far. I can’t give up the listening to the sweetest song I’ve ever heard, It’s addicting and beautiful but sometimes it hurts. Don’t leave me when I’ve finally started to get things just right- I’ve spent too many nights having the “don’t go…” fight And when I look in the light, slanting through my window in the earliest dawn; Maybe, today will be better. Maybe, today I’ll be strong. And with that, a deep breathe and I decide to move on.
