My Closet
MY CLOSET I looked into my closet to see what I should wear, It was a different closet than what you may think there: The closet was my Bible that told me many things— The things I should be wearing to honor Christ my King. It said, “Put on the new man now that you are His son, Put on your shiny armor for the battle to be won. Put on the deeds of kindness, of love and godliness, Be not ashamed to serve Him since now you Him possess. Above all put on charity, God’s perfect love to show, And keep your garments spotless wherever you may go.” The clothes once in my closet, once stained with shame and sin, Were given a replacement, for they were vile within. My good deeds could not clean them, nor money I could give, There was but one solution: a life in Christ to live. So I came to the Savior, He took those garments then, In righteousness He clothed me and cleansed me from my sin. My garments now are different than they were once before, And I want to wear them proudly for Jesus Christ, my Lord.
