You Broke My Heart
The day you died my heart stopped beating with yours- I could count the hours, the minutes- The moments were just ours, baby… we had no limits. You broke my heart in two without repair, you shook me black and blue- Oh, it isn’t fair. You needed more than life could offer, you dreamed of emerald fields you just couldn’t find- All I do is sit and stare as I try to get your tears of my mind- You used to be mine, and now my eyes blind, no joy in sight, no happiness to find, you gave up the fight... -life so unkind. The day you died my spirit stopped flowing- My soul not knowing- My crimson tears cried. But oh I tried... -and just ran away to hide. I would reach the mountains of wonder and embrace the roaring thunder, if only to hold you once more- I stand in front of your fountain, where you took your last breath, you found pleasure in death, while my heart you tore. I use my imagination to find sincere justification, yet still… can’t figure out... -what this life is for. All the complication and crazy deliberation, for you were in the lost and found- Complete silence. it’s not science. Your dumbfounded defiance. Yet you made no sound. You didn’t want anyone to find you, but deep down I always knew... -you’d never come around. The day you died my heart was buried with you in your grave- Oh, my love, your life I just couldn’t save- You broke my heart and didn’t care, oh, life isn’t fair- I try to be brave, but your laughter I still crave- In a million pieces my heart... -you did tear.
