Coming Home
In the small town of Bethlehem where Joseph and Mary came by, I kneel down to pray and worship on the spot where the baby slept. To Nazareth’s rolling hills I come to knock on the carpenter's door and in nearby Cana I sip the wine gathered from among its vines. I wash my feet in the river Jordan where John sanctified the Lord, asking to be cleansed of my sins on its flowing, life-giving waters. Aboard a boat in the Sea of Galilee in spirit merged with the fisherman, I cast away all my woes and cares to place my complete faith in Him. Just as Jesus fought with the devil in Jericho's foreboding mountains, I gain full strength and inspiration grappling with my own temptations. I walk the streets of old Jerusalem and in Gethsemane's olive garden; oh, just to set foot in the Holy Land is to be home where it all began.
