December Memories
Kingdoms of power are resolute, weathered by December rain. In another time, home sweet home meant a realm arcane, Mama hushed the wind while Daddy warned the ghost. Raging creek’s banks rise high above with an eerie boast. Overcast, still today as we whisper prayers in the dark, December winds yawn loudly and fresh haunts twist our ark. Rudderless rain clouds storm out precipitation’s message; In our kingdom of bricks, we see God's light of courage. Grinning at the thought of cold fingers, we hold onto the Spirit’s Umbrella, whereby rain’s death slows bringing bliss with its Euphoria. Miracles and calm memories stir us like pawns Serenaded by angels of years past, each December dawns. . written January 16, 2017 I wrote this as an acrostic / cento using 32 of Kim Rodrigues' poem titles. The lines are my own but are inspired by words from her titles. As a credit to her, her name is the acrostic.
