My words stumbled when at first I talked with you. It seemed forever that my heart had been confined. It was for fullness that my starving soul searched. Your kindness helped me put away many fears. The church steeple watched as the devil’s scheme perched. We opened up hoping, knowing vanquished tears. When you embraced me, somehow, my hopes took flight. I felt quivers that had vanished years before. Two lives in anguish together saw the light. True love, invincible, became life’s encore. We were wed on New Year’s eve at 12:01. Dreamy eyes were sparkled with true love’s hue. Family and friends came; celebrated with fun. As planned we began to make our dreams come true. The Devil’s scheme soon started to thwart love’s way. I survived the shock when his laughter bellowed! Divorce not filed … our marriage went away.
