In My Dreams
As I walked along the beach today My eyes drawn to the sand A precious stone gleamed at me Perched on a golden band I looked around this early morn But no one was in sight No soul to claim this treasure trove And so I thought I might As I pluck it from the surf My fortune seemed complete So I strolled up to a mound of sand And there I took a seat That's when I held it in my hand And rolled it to and fro As the Sun lit up the gold And made the Diamond glow It was then as if a shadow came and covered my delight To think my gain was someones loss It didn't seem quiet right I did not know the reasons It wasn't on Her hand Or how it came to be, to me Half hidden in the sand But when I stood, and turned for home I saw Her standing still With hand out stretched and fingers spread She softly said " I will "
