Nightmares
With all my clothes I am sitting here, And let the warm rain down on me. Warm rain down, but inside cold, And arms around me try to hold. Eyes look nowhere, do not see, But all that happened I still hear. Water cleanses, is what they say. I let the warm rain wash it off, Warm rain wash off but inside pain. If only it would never be felt again. If I could only yell: enough! Would this then really be the last day? Every night I am sitting here, And let the warm rain down on me, Warm rain down, nights are cruel. Nights are my demons favourite fuel, Nights they come and pity me. Night-time is what I mostly fear. I close the tap, remove the clothes From the haunted dreaming me. Wet and shivering, towel dry, And watch as daybreak lights the sky, Welcoming sun, embracing, see How rays finally destroy sorrows.
