The Big Empty
The Big Empty lay before me, an endless landscape of infinite possibility The canvas evolves at the moment in time we leave trace of our existence All that I touch with each breath of my life, now and forever changed with evidence of character bleeding it's colorful hues. With all the reds of blood and dread pursuing life with passion I choose the blues in all their hues, reflecting my compassion Yellows for the depths of hope the sunlight brings with time And every color should they meet that gives my life its rhyme A lifetime of choices fulfill what once before lay the big empty Upheavals born the strata of my trials Time has left me nothing but defining memories What of my life will be left in the world and why might it matter? -Jeannie Minor & RC
